On the mountains the first snow falls, the alpine huts high above close and the cattle come back to the valley, then it is clear for all of us - it is autumn. The colorful leaves and the breathtaking play of colors in the forests of the Schladming-Dachstein Region provide a perfect basis for a wonderful autumn vacation. When you have the autumn-colored mountains around Schladming right in front of your nose, you simply can't keep your feet still.

An autumn vacation is characterized by the fact that you can watch the wonderful scenery and spectacle of the mountains from high above at a pleasant temperature. In every suitcase should be hiking boots, jacket and camera to experience these moments and save forever. Charming is not only the beautiful nature, but also the extraordinary dishes, which you can find at local alpine huts. Since 2019, celebrity chef Richard Rauch has been working with our local innkeepers to develop one special alpine dish each, based on regional and down-to-earth products. The celebrity chef was awarded a Gault Millau hood in 2006 and was declared Chef of the Year in 2014 with 17 out of a possible 20 points. Richard Rauch is well-known in Germany from the TV cooking show "Küchenschlacht" and he guarantees that the dishes are exceptionally good. The participating innkeepers include this dish in their menu for one season.

You can experience autumn with all your senses: While hiking, you can hear the rustling of leaves under your feet, the smell of damp leaves and the food at the alpine huts also enchants us locals every year anew.
