FAQ's - Everything you need to know about us:

• Why are you no longer a member of Kinderhotels?

  From 1992 to 2017 we were a member of the marketing group Kinderhotels Europa. Since September 2017 we are now part of the Familyselecthotels. Among the Familyselecthotels in Austria, we fall into the category 5 weasels.
  After 25 years of membership, it was time for us to go new ways and put us on our own feet. However, thanks to our membership with the Familyselecthotels, our childcare professionals still benefit from training and continuing education at the Kinderhotelakademie.

• What pools are available for children?

  Our hotel indoor swimming pool with its own family sauna is waiting for children. This sauna is used as a textile sauna. For hygienic reasons, we do not have our own children's pool.
  In summer, there is also our large outdoor pool only 3 minutes walk from the hotel, which our guests can use free of charge. There is also a large separate children's splash area.

• What wellness facilities await the adults?

  For adults there is our own spa area with three saunas (Finnish sauna, herbal sweat bath, infrared cabin) as well as large lounging area and direct access to the garden. Only adults and children over 12 years old are allowed to enter this area. Textile free.

• What is included in the price?

  Our price always includes half board, unless you have explicitly booked with breakfast only. Half board consists of a generous breakfast buffet in the morning and a 5-course menu in the evening. Drinks for adults are NOT included in the price, but drinks for the children from the children's juice bar are.
  In summer, the Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard is ALWAYS included in the price, which includes a wide range of excursions.

• Do you also offer all-inclusive or packed lunches?

  No. In our region there is so much to discover and so many beautiful alpine huts, ski huts and destinations where you can really spoil yourself with culinary delights. The decision not to be a classic all-inclusive hotel is therefore a conscious one. We are happy when our guests actively experience the region and this includes the culinary offerings of the region. Guests who do stay at the hotel at lunchtime can choose a few selected dishes from our small snack menu. However, if you leave early on the day of departure and do not have breakfast, we will be happy to provide you with a packed lunch.

• We are a pretty active family, what all can we do at your place?

  As an active, adventurous family you are exactly right with us. In summer we offer many guided and supervised excursions for the whole family, we lend you e-bikes (for a small fee) and you spend your vacation with many other active families, who will perhaps see you off as new friends at the end of your vacation.
  In winter we are located in the middle of the ski paradise of the Schladming 4-mountain swing and are therefore also your perfect vacation host for your skiing vacation.

• Are pets allowed in your house?

  We ourselves love animals and our petting zoo is also our personal passion. However, there are many guests and children who are afraid of dogs or have allergic reactions. Unfortunately, in the past we have also had dog owners who let their animals sleep in the beds where children slept again shortly after. Since we had some complaints here, we have decided to no longer accommodate dogs. We ask for your understanding that pets and children in a confined space unfortunately do not always get along.

• Is it possible to use your childcare as an external guest?

  No, unfortunately you can not. Our house guests have an exclusive right to our care ladies and we do not offer external babysitting. However, we would be happy if maybe next time you also become our guest, then your children can also use the care.

• How do you deal with food allergies?

  Our chefs are trained on allergies of all kinds and are also happy to cook your own menus for your allergies. We are also happy to accommodate vegan wishes, but we ask for your understanding that it is not always possible to cook all 5 courses vegan. Please let us know your allergy when booking, then our kitchen will adjust to it in advance.

• Are you a pure non-smoking hotel?

  Our premises inside the hotel are clear non-smoking rooms. Also smoking from the open window in the rooms etc. is NOT tolerated by us, because we would like to offer also following guests an absolutely smoke-free room. We have an ashtray at the front and back entrance, smoking is allowed here. Also on our terrace we do not forbid you to smoke, but we ask you to be considerate of other (non-smoking) families on the terrace. The same applies to our balconies.

• Are guests without children also welcome at your place?

  Of course :) We are happy to accept childless guests with us, but just briefly point out that most guests arrive already with children and therefore it is sometimes a bit turbulent. However, we have already received positive feedback from many (childless) guests.

• What equipment is provided for our children?

  Children up to the age of three are automatically provided with a crib with baby bedding, a changing table or changing pad, a diaper pail and a kettle at the room. Upon request, we are also happy to provide a fall-out protection, bottle warmer and potty.
  In the dining rooms, we schedule a high chair for children 3 and under and a triptrap for children 3 to 4 years and older.
  We also have several rental strollers for children 1 year and older, as well as back carriers and walking sleds in the winter.

• Do you also offer baby food?

  No. We have specialized in the care and also in the food for children from 1 to 14 years. Therefore, we do not have our own porridges for babies or anything like that. However, there is a parent's kitchen in the basement available 24 hours a day, where you can heat up the porridge you have brought with you or cook it yourself at any time.

• How far are you from the ski resort?

  We are virtually in the middle of it all and only one kilometer away from the large Hauser Kaibling valley station. A ski bus takes you regularly to the lift during peak hours and back again. For the way back there is also a connecting path with which you can ski into town.

• Do all guests get the Sommercard?

  Yes. During the summer season, all guests, whether they are here for one night or several nights, can enjoy the Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard and thus use all mountain railroads, toll roads, swimming pools, bathing lakes and much more free of charge and enjoy discounts at many other partners.

• Is it possible to rent bicycles or e-bikes from you?

  Yes. We have a selection of mountain bikes and children's bikes that you can use free of charge. We also have four TOP mountain e-bikes that we lend you for a small fee. We will be happy to give you tips for your bike trips etc. at any time.

• Is it possible to stay with you for only one week?

  In principle, we take our guests during the peak season only for at least 6 nights, because our whole program is also designed for a week's vacation. But we never say never! If there are gaps due to longer bookings etc, then we will of course take you for fewer nights.

• Do you also have something for older children?

  But of course :) Our program is always tailored exactly to the age of the children present. If there are many big kids here due to the vacations, the whole program is also designed for big kids. For teens over 10 years also waiting for their own program points. Our Donki-Club team thinks of something when designing the program and always adapts it individually to the needs of the age groups. We do not offer a program for the masses, but highlights especially for your children!
